Cakes
The Urban Kitchen is a small gourmet catering company that can bake you a cake for any occasion. Each cake is individual and unique and is prepared to your own requirements. All cakes are made to order – 10 days notice required for celebration cakes and 6 weeks notice required for wedding cakes.
Ingredients
All cakes are made using the highest quality ingredients including butter, fresh eggs and chocolate. None of our cakes are covered in marzipan or soft icing. They are coated with plain, fruit or chocolate glazes to ensure a smooth finish. Cakes may be decorated with chocolate curls in dark or white chocolate instead of the glazes.
Dietary requirements
We are able to cater for cakes for people with a variety of food allergies and intolerances including wheat or gluten-free, egg-free, dairy-free and those for patients with conditions such as coeliac disease.
Flavours
We make a large variety of cakes including chocolate, lemon or orange and almond and Madeira sponge. We also bake sponge and almond cakes infused with a variety of flavours including saffron, rosewater and cardamom and Arabic spices.
Styles
Most of our cakes are decorated with fresh floral arrangements or fresh fruit. We will coordinate with the décor of your party and will use coordinating ribbons, cake boards and other accessories.

Stacked tiers allow you to choose a different flavour for each tier - ranging from orange flower water and saffron, lemon zest, cinnamon and Arabic spices, chocolate and cardamom and vanilla. |

Our most popular design is a small (8") cake decorated with fresh flowers which is used for individual centrepieces on each table at the party. |
Our second most popular design is the "Butterfly" cake which is adored by both adults and children alike.
